About Bradley Beard
I am a graduate of Herzing College in Melbourne, Florida. My degree is Associate of Science in Computer Information Systems. I was also awarded Honors status upon graduation. Soon after this, I was awarded a Diploma in Web Site Design from Herzing College. Again, Honors status was achieved. I also earned a degree in Network Management from Herzing College with a cumulative GPA of 3.43. I continued my education with Herzing College Online, pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Technology Management with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems. I graduated with the Bachelors of Science in Technology Management in December of 2004 with a 3.43 cumulative GPA.
I have graduated from Florida Institute of Technology, from their Master of Science - Computer Information Systems graduate program. It was singly the worst school experience of my life. I’m glad that I got my degree, but man… what a hassle.
My most recent work includes websites for Brainstorm Multimedia, the site you are currently viewing. I have also been contracted out to repair or enhance existing websites, including legendary musician Dan Fogelberg’s website.
The most recent work that I’ve done using PHP and MySQL is for a company here in Melbourne, Florida that specializes in cylindrical militarized connectors, called X-1 Technology.
I have been honored to join the authors at phpfreaks.com, the definitive source for PHP on the web. I submitted a PHP tutorial called PHP Membership System V2.0, which explains in great detail how to set up a complete membership system using PHP and MySQL. I also submitted various other PHP/MySQL tutorials and articles for phpfreaks.com recently as well. I am honored to call Eric ‘phpfreak’ Rosebrock, published author of multiple books and amazing drummer, a good friend of mine that I don’t get to see nearly enough.
Lately, I write an awful lot of ColdFusion for my job. I’m using the latest version, ColdFusion 8, and am really happy with it. I use the latest and greatest from Adobe for development tools (CS4 Web Premium, if you must know) and overall, I’ll say that I’m extremely satisfied with their offerings. Except for one thing - I wish that they would offer Flex 3 as part of the bundles of software.
In my spare time (very little), I try to spend a bit of time with the family and stay sharp on guitar, bass, vocals, and drums. I want to learn how to play piano, but I don’t want a teacher - that would ruin it, I think. I like to learn by myself. My dream is to record a whole album with just me playing and singing on it… hence the gentle reminders at almost every turn.
